May 15 · Joanne is an experienced horse person and treated Buddy with such care. the treatment helped him so much. I would highly recommend Kendra Gruber Richardson to Pleasant Meadow PEMF Therapy
May 21 · I just wanted to thank Joanne for helping me to get my horse on the right track. His story is too long to write here, but in short, he had physical issues that NO ONE could figure out. Numerous vets, 50 xrays, numerous procedures, over numerous years and not one thing made a difference. Was he rideable? Yes. Was he happy, going well and at his full potential? No! I did a lot of deep thinking on this horse and after changing numerous things, I still was not at 100% but was at the bottom of the 3rd barrel of ideas. My LAST resort was Magna Wave. After one session, I noticed a big difference. My issue that I was having was almost gone. A week later I did a second session.. and this time he almost reverted back a little. I kept working him though and found that little by little he was getting better and better. I went from a horse that started out looking tied up and lame, that took 15 min to "warm up", to a horse that now takes his first step beautifully. A horse that going to the right would throw his ass in at the canter and have an all out temper tantrum if I tried to straighten him, to now a horse happily cantering straight and balanced using his hind end.. He is straight to the jumps, he is happy to do his job and is actually LOVING it. These are all things that I was starting to feel would never happen. We were really at our wits end and Magna Wave pretty much saved us when no vet, medicine or procedure could. We are just at the beginning of tapping into his potential and he got his first ribbon last weekend. I truly believe that this never would have been possible without Magna Wave. Thanks Joanne!! March 4 at 7:06 PM · Laila's first PEMF session with Joanne Racaniello Pelosi was amazing! I did not expect our red-headed TB mare to be all sugar and no spice! She LOVED it and so did the other girls who were fascinated and definitely wanted to get in on the action! Thank you Joanne for trudging through the snow and working in the "great outdoors" 🤩 Lisa Sendell recommends Pleasant Meadow PEMF Therapy.
February 21 at 10:47 AM · Had the Magnawave therapy done on my knee after a bad fall off a horse and it was amazing! Went from barely able to bend the knee to almost complete range of movement in 12 hours! We did a second treatment the next day and I was back up riding in 1 week. Bruising came up and went away really quick and most of the swelling was gone in a couple days as well. Elizabeth Cross Glowacki shared a post.March 8 at 2:52 PM ·
I can attest to how well this works!! Ollie has been getting magna wave sessions and he loves it!! He always moves better after a session. Holly Haugen Here's the super sensitive mare Pleasant Meadow PEMF Therapy references above... I'm wagering she'll give a good nicker and noticeably perk up in a happy way for her next session :-). This photo is remarkable as any who know Ivy know she's not very tolerant of new stimuli, especially about her head and ears. After lots of great releases (and one burp - yes, horses DO burp), my trainer was really pleased with her power, push and tolerance of aids which were all noticeably greater in her lesson later! Very much looking forward to continued treatments!!!

May 29 · A huge thank you to Joanne Racaniello Pelosi for helping my boy after his closed castrations. He’s looking so much better. Brietta Ragette is with Joanne Racaniello Pelosi.
February 21 at 6:49 PM · Déjà Vu says thank you very much to Joanne Pelosi for her Magna Wave treatment. Her stiffness has gone away and her well-being is improved so much! Thank you Pleasant Meadow PEMF Magna Wave Therapy www.pleasantmeadowmw.org Ok....so rode him today. Def his normal self on crossties. Got on, only walked half way around the ring, picked up the trot and he was like a normal horse. In the 3 years I have owned him, I have never had him be "normal" from step 1. The best I've ever gotten to s 2 times around teh ring short then loosening up. Ben watched him and said he was "springier" and bending much better around my inside leg and not holding his head stiff. He felt and looked better everywhere... Sooo I'm thrilled.
Kendra March 3, 2019 Well, my testimonial is not about my horse, but about me. I suffer from migraines. Not debilitating ones, but ones that cannot be managed with OTC medicine. If I don't catch them in time, I just have to wait it out. Joann mentioned her Magna wave. I knew nothing about it, but I was pretty sure that it could not make my migraine worse. I said, sure, why not.. She used this on me. We did 3 10-minute (I believe they are 10-minute) cycles. Sure enough, my migraine was gone. I could not believe it. BUT, my story does not end there. I'm older and have the normal aches and pains that come with age. I was also in a car accident 10-12 years ago and have had problems with my neck, I do not have the mobility that most people have. The day after my session with the Magna Wave, I was doing my hair for work. (It takes alot to get my hair looking decent in the morning). I do need to watch myself in the mirror to see that I have not missed a section. I was about 75% done with my hair when I realized I am not straining my head/neck to see all sides of my head while doing my hair. I had so much more mobility with my neck that I hadn't had in so many years! Not that I could spin it in circles like in the Exorcist, but WOW! How nice to be normal again. THAT!! was a nice, unexpected bonus. Thank you soooo much. Anytime I don't catch my migraine, you KNOW your phone will be ringing. Thank you again.

Raoul Nuguid (1/2016)Hello Barn Lady,
I have the best testimonial, or so I think. I have enlisted the highest source of course, so it should be good. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 Barn Lady (you can put your name instead) she is patient, she is kind, she does not envy, she does not boast, she is not proud, she does not dishonor others, she is not self seeking, she is not easily angered, she keeps no record of wrong, she protects, she trusts, she hopes, she perseveres........ my thoughts exactly. -Raoul Ann Weintraub (12/2013)
I was driving down the long, tree-lined driveway with white picket fences the other day- leaving Pleasant Meadow Farm to return to NYC and to go back to work, when I realized that it was over 2 years ago that I first rode up this driveway, hoping to find a new home for my horse Tobey, and for me. We were coming from Pa., and I needed to find a barn much closer to Manhattan (where I live) so I would be able to spend much more time with Tobey and really bond with my talented Haflinger. Everything and everyone was welcoming and supportive- from that very first meeting with Joanne Pelosi. This Farm has relatively few boarders- it's really like a family and as the new horse owner I was (and still am) I am very grateful for everyone's support, and patience in helping me become the good horsewoman I so want to become. I have never been good with change- and coming from another State, and knowing rather few people in the horse world in New Jersey, I was very fortunate to find Joanne, my wonderful trainers Alyssa Weihe and Barbara Hay and Pleasant Meadow Farm- a small, charming and quality farm with wonderful caring people in it. Diane Sawanobori (10/2013)
Thank you; Alyssa, for finding a face (and extensive resume) from 1k+ miles away that is irresistible and asking me daily about him. Alexis, for trekking to Md all day to test drive him with us. Joanne, for tons of support, retrieving and disallowing him to go back, ever. Penny (and Jo) for squealing when they cantered him the first time. Holly, for supporting through my process of 'failures' and lending me equipment. Raoul for transporting Lad home. Lisa for confirming saddle and blankey fit, and of course Tom for insisting (ok, threatening) I call Jo to GO GET. Bob, Peggy and Barb confirming the match. Ann, Liz, Tanya, Kelly and Jane who encouraged me on. Mr.Sandman-Perfect-for-me, "Sandy", is finally and officially ours! It was a barn effort ~love you all Meredith Baker (6/2013)

Four years ago I was looking for a new barn to ride at because I was looking to learn more and wanted more of a challenge in my riding career. I came across Pleasant Meadow Farm and immediately recognized the owner. Joanne and I rode together before I went away to college. I wrote her an email hoping she would remember me. She did remember me and she invited me to come look at Pleasant Meadow. I loved Pleasant Meador Farm the first time I set foot in the barn. I started leasing a cute appaloosa mare and not only have a found what I was always looking for as far as my riding was concerned but better yet I have found a second family. I have never been a part of a barn where everyone is so supportive and friendly. I can say the boarders at Pleasant Meadow Farm are some of the best people I know. The care the horses receive is amazing. Joanne looks after each horse like it was her own. All the horses are healthy and happy. This will be my third year eventing and with the coaching of great trainers and the support of great friends at the barn I’ve overcome many challenges and fears. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for myself and everyone at that barn. Whether it’s a day full of showing, a quiet trail ride, or challenging lesson every day spent with my Pleasant Meadow Family brings me happiness. Holly Haugen (11/2013) I found PMF the winter of '09 when in need of an indoor and help with my OTTB while I recuperated from a back problem. Joanne and then trainer Alyssa took excellent care of me and Charlie and we managed to go on and do things together I'd never imagined… Charlie winning his first ever hunter pace with his TB pasture mate, then fox hunting for a season with the Amwell Valley Hounds. I rested easy knowing Charlie's comfort and health were a top priority, and Joanne and Alyssa patiently and kindly helped me become a more knowledgable horse owner. Life changed a lot -- Charlie found a new loving home while I leased and catch-rode a few years all the while keeping PMF my home base. I've met so many wonderfully supportive and FUN folks here, and am very thankful for the great and lasting friendships I've found. Those same friends were with me as I searched once again for a horse of my own and stood by through trial, error, and finding THE ONE. I couldn't be happier with my new young mare or with her care. Joanne looks after Ivy like one of her own and continues to help me learn. Ivy's relaxed, happy, shines with good health, and is game for whatever our next activity. We have opportunities for private and group lessons with several great trainers who come to the farm, trail riding just up the road, showing, fox hunting, you name it! We recently completed our first horse trial and had a great day at Bucks with much of the PMF gang competing and/or supporting. I regularly count my blessings for my great barn family and my wonderful horse and look forward to new adventures with all! Holly will be moving to a farm of her own in October, 2016. I'm so happy that she's found the most perfect (not so) little farm for herself. I'll miss her terribly, and wish her all the best! Jane Oelkers
It was difficult leaving my barn in Bucks County when my family moved to New Jersey. I was very worried about how my sensitive mare would adjust to the transition, and I was leaving behind a very supportive group of barn mates. My worries turned out to be needless, as both my mare and I have only benefited from our time at Pleasant Meadow Farm. All the amenities needed for a happy and healthy horse are provided, and Liadan has never been happier. I also have been fortunate enough to have yet another group of friendly and supportive barn mates. Joanne provides a very warm and inclusive environment, and Alyssa’s method of training builds both confidence and skill. Every time I pull up the long driveway to this beautiful farm I am reminded of what a great choice I made. Heather Toma
I can hardly believe we’ve been in New Jersey for six months already! I thought this might be a good time to reflect on how happy Lyric, Dundee and I have been at Pleasant Meadow Farm and share some of my gratitude with you. You know how nervous I was about moving my two “active seniors” all the way across the country, away from everything they were used to, from feed to bedding to climate to…well, you name it, I worried about it!
First and foremost is the excellent care, with careful attention to detail. I know the boys appreciate their clean, warm and always-topped-off water buckets and their neat, fresh, low-dust stalls. Well, almost as much as they LOVE their individual paddocks with views of the surrounding pastures, anyway! I cannot imagine a better, more horse-friendly setup, for their minds as well as their bodies. Running a close second is how “at home” I feel at Pleasant Meadow. You have made me (and ALL my stuff!) feel so welcome. You gave not only my ponies a place, but one for me too. I had no idea how difficult it would be for me to be so far away from all of my friends and support, both horse-y and personally. I hope you realize how much I appreciate the friendship, knowledge, support and camaraderie I’ve found at PMF. From knowing how to get the boys used to being on pasture, to having the “bat-line” for the vet, to encouraging social gatherings, I have never felt so included and appreciated at a barn before. I have to mention Kate. I mean Marilyn. Wait, no Blondie, I mean SHAZAM I’m GORGEOUS! What a fun, unexpected and altogether fabulous addition to our family. The quality of horses and ponies that I’ve seen find new homes through PMF has been a pleasure to be around. You certainly have a knack for finding great horses (even the ones labeled “farm equipment”…) and matching them with very satisfied owners. I know I’m one of them, that’s for sure… I can only hope than when (ever!) I get my barn built and bring the boys home that I am able to provide care that comes close to what I’ve become used to at PMF. You’ve definitely given me some big “horseshoes” to fill! Thank you so much for everything and more, |

I was looking to get back into riding after giving up my horse to go to college back in the day and found Pleasant Meadow Farm by chance by visiting their website about 9 months ago. I met with trainer Alyssa Nebus and owner Joanne Pelosi and soon thereafter started my lessons and never looked back. Nowadays, I’m part leasing one of Alyssa’s Morgans and have found a real home away from home. I feel very fortunate to have found a barn that’s inclusive and relaxed but professionally and knowledgeably managed and operated. I wanted the best of both worlds…lots of fun combined with complete faith and trust in the folks and horses I was learning from and riding with and I GOT IT! I think this barn is very special in a lot of ways. Boarders and lesson riders alike work together, help one another before, during and after events and generally just have a good, safe time enjoying the facility, the horses, plenty of outings and one another's company. A day at the barn doesn’t pass without learning something valuable while enjoying my ride. Who could ask for more? Someone much smarter than me once said “The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man” and they only forgot one thing… to mention how awesome being a member of a good barn can make you feel, too. -Kelly Jones Brittany Bowers
I showed up at Pleasant Meadow Farm as a 12 year old beginner rider, really only knowing how to bounce around a ring with a bunch of other kids, just trying to hang on. I had no idea how lucky I was about to be! Joanne immediately made me feel so accepted and at home, that Pleasant Meadow practically became my home. Working with Joanne and her horses provided me with a chance that most girls my age never have. I grew a tremendous amount as a rider and as a young woman. I was taught how deeply satisfying hard work is, both in and out of the saddle. Whether it was a dressage workshop, team penning, or witnessing the birth of a foal, the PMF team is always up to something exciting and expanding. Joanne Pelosi is the most dedicated barn owner I have ever met. She genuinely cares for each horse and owners' particular needs, and works hard to ensure that the PMF horses are happy and healthy. Without her support I would never have been able to experience showing and riding so many wonderful ponies whenever I desired! She has become a dear friend and an inspiration to me on sooo many levels. Alyssa Nebus completely transformed my riding. She taught me how to ride productively and with an understanding of the horse. She was always patient and encouraging, and challenged me to think for myself. I called her on my cell phone one day during a particularly tough ride and within 5 minutes everything was going smoothly. I am so thankful to have had her as my instructor at a young age. I am unbelievably grateful to have had Pleasant Meadow Farm become my family. As I get ready to relocate very far away, I know that Pleasant Meadow will always have a very special place in my heart. I hope to one day find a barn half as wonderful. The lessons I have learned there gave me confidence in all areas of my life and the bonds I made will always be treasured. Pleasant Meadow Farm provided me with endless opportunities to ride, grow, and learn. All of my love, Brittany Coleen Purdon
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. What did I really know about horses other than I knew I loved to be in their company? I moved to Flemington, 10 years ago and lucky for me the Pelosi’s moved next door.
Coming from a beginner, I found Joanne Pelosi to be a true mentor. It doesn’t matter what level you are, Joanne and her staff are patient and put me at ease. She has so much experience with horses and is truly dedicated to every aspect of their well being. I have never met anyone that works so hard and is so driven about her horse farm. The stable is beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Pleasant Meadow Farm boasts a great outdoor and huge indoor arena so the weather is never an excuse. My horse was given all the attention you could hope for. He was exercised, turned out, fed, groomed, had standard vet visits and was always kept comfortable. All her trainers and handlers are very experienced. Pleasant Meadow Farm is the place your horse can call home!! Coleen Purdon Michelle Jay
I came to Pleasant Meadow Farm last summer, for what I thought would be a short period of time - it was simply going to be a place where I could ride in between leaving my former trainer and finding a new one. Oh, how I was wrong! Of course I was impressed with the facilities and the horses, but it was the people who ride and board there that made me realize that PMF was someplace special. From Game Nights to early morning barn cleaning to shows with the whole team cheering, Pleasant Meadow Farm is the most inclusive barn I have ever been at. In fact, it is so welcoming and warm, I now refer to it (semi-jokingly, but mostly in all seriousness) as my second home.
I cannot appropriately express my thanks and gratitude to Joanne and Alyssa for making PMF a place where I can not only ride (and one day hopefully board), but where I can learn, grow, and make new friends as well. There isn't a day that goes by without me thinking of Pleasant Meadow Farm. In gratitude, Michelle Dana & Lexi Sendro
Joanne and Alyssa,
I just wanted to thank you again for finding Nick for us. He has been the absolute perfect first pony for Lexie. He has the most loving personality and will probably be with us for the rest of his life. He was such a star this year in the Mini-Stirrup and they achieved their best performance yet in capturing the Mini-Stirrup Reserve Champion title out of 23 ponies at the NJPHA Fall Finale last year. Thanks again for bringing him into our lives. Dana and Lexie Sendro |
