Alistar, 2012, 16.2H Thoroughbred Cross - $5500.00 - READ THROUGH FOR 3/19 UPDATE

Alistar, formerly Number 218 at the Cranbury Auction (renamed by my daugther) was purchased with Guinnivere on December 10, 2015.  Both were so bonded at the auction, neither could be ridden through without the other panicing (from what I'm told).  My guess is, this handsome, strapping ham of a horse was never ridden before.  Listed as an 8 year old, and found to be 4 per vet and dentist.  He's been given time to settle in, gain weight and begin training as though he'd never been worked with before.  Al is sound, willing, learning quickly and is a COMPLETE GOOFBALL!!!!!  Mr. Personality +++.  So curious, and inquisitive, I see this guy going in any direction with continued education.  

Within one week under saddle, he's walk/trot and beginning to canter.  Bending, working on leg yields at the walk.  He's unfazed by new things and tries hard to please.  He's an easy project, and going to be a really, REALLY nice horse.  Finish this boy your way, and he WILL steal your heart.  Low man on the totem pole, nice bare feet, sound and NO vices. Good for the vet, loved being clipped, fairly good for the farrier (if your farrier doesn't mind Mr. Nosey getting into everything).  Price will increase with training.  

3/19 - UPDATE
We are now three weeks under saddle and this boy is game for ANYTHING!  He's smart, willing, sensible with three nice gaits and a can do attitude!  Wouldn't mind this guy hanging around for a long while, but we're listing the farm on the market April 1st and need to downsize.  

Working on walking leg yields, turn on the forehand and haunches.  Very soft in the bridle.

Alistar is now walk/trot/canter, and starting over baby calvaletti.  My husband came out by the barn to work with a chainsaw on 3/18 and I put my made horse away and took out the greenie and knew he wouldn't put a foot wrong.  I was right!  Hitting the trails next week and I expect him to be a star again!

video is Alistar's 5th ride​.....with his first "bumps".  Just for fun I had my dressage trainer hop on to assess him and asked him to introduce him to a couple of low fences, just to see how he would react.  Well, not much seems to trouble this guy.  More to come.
